About Lucía
I experiment in order to build impactful, innovative, and financially viable things.
My roles include:
Founder & CEO of Emerge, an experimental impact innovation lab working at the convergence of sustainable development, technological innovation, and re-imagined socio-economics.
Co-Founder of The Æternals and CryptoFrogz, regenerative collections of digital collectibles that serve as financial instruments that connect it’s underlying value to a collector’s proof-of-impact toward rainforest and biodiversity protection.
Co-Founder of Dona un Libro, Cambia una Mente, a non-profit organisation that designs and implements original education content and programs for corporate social responsibility departments.
In my spare time, I sits on the Boards of organisations whose work really matters to me: (1) Rainforest Partnership, a non-profit organisation promoting the protection of the world's tropical rainforests; (2) the Caribbean Blockchain Alliance, a regional organisation promoting the adoption of decentralised technologies across the region; and (3) WE Global Studio, an innovation studio supporting the world's female entrepreneurs.
I am currently open to board seats at companies building core technology infrastructure in blockchain and artificial intelligence, as well as companies looking to transition into embedded impact objectives into their core competencies, in line with growing demand for ESG-compliance and growing consumer interest in responsible companies and investment practices.
I have past experience in both the public and private sectors, ranging from immigration and trade relations on diplomatic missions to AI-enabled mobile tech and early-stage innovation investments.
I am a member of World Economic Forum working groups in: Stablecoins, DAOs, and Digital Identity, as well a groups within the Crypto Impact and Sustainability Accelerator and the Crypto Sustainability Coalition.
I am a 2017 Venture for Canada Fellow, a 2018 RBC Future Launch Fellow and the only person to ever simultaneously be an inaugural winner of the Money 20/20 2018 Rise Up and 2021 Amplify Cohorts. I am a certified UN SDG Advocate. In 2020, I was listed as one of MIT Technology Review's Innovators under 35. I've also been included as a Royal Bank of Canada Women of Influence and have been nominated for Royal Bank of Canada's Entrepreneur of the Year award, Future of Good's Founders to Watch, and the Cartier Science and Technology Pioneer Award.
