About Jonathan
Jonny is a hard-working free spirit with substantial practical experience in vagabonding, communal living, mechanical engineering, and intellectual property law. He is a US-registered patent attorney and California Bar member since 1997, including five years with O'Melveny & Myers and current affiliation with One LLP, an IP boutique with offices in Southern California.
Jonny loves designing and implementing distributed governance frameworks for intentional communities. He is CEO and co-founder of Depublica, a corporation owned exclusively by its volunteers, which acts as a trustee of WikiWe, a private data license pool for those pledged to peacemaking, integrity, and mutual respect. In 2018, he published "Blockchain Faith," a guidebook to distributed governance by individual social promises.
In 1997, Jonny earned his J.D. from UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). He earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from UC Berkeley in 1988. Jonny has served a variety of corporate and individual clients and is very experienced in the art of obtaining and using patents.
